Tourism complex being built in Luanda, Angola

The Ocean Drive tourism complex being built at Morro dos Veados in Luanda province is already stimulating the economy in the Cabo Ledo region, its director told the Jornal de Angola newspaper. João Mainsel said the complex would create jobs in construction, domestic services and other key activities for the economic growth of Morro dos Veados and the surrounding area. Morro dos Veados is well situated in an area of natural beauty on the southern Luanda coast, with panoramic views of Mussulo Bay and part of Luanda, he said, adding that there is potential for the creation of profitable and innovative tourism projects. The residential and commercial components guaranteeing the creation of a thousand direct jobs and numerous indirect ones will soon be launched, he said. The construction work on a gallery and commercial area called Estância Ocean Drive should be finished within 14 months. The Ocean Drive project will occupy 150 hectares and results from a partnership between Urbitur – Gestão de Empreendimentos and the Grupo Sólida, which has already built nine real estate development projects.
